A stage of its own for a new drinking culture
The first UNBESCHWIPST is behind us – and we are still quite moved by what took place in Vienna that day.
Producers from all over Europe, more than 150 different drinks, and an audience that tasted, asked questions, discussed, and engaged with a still-young category with great curiosity. This included numerous new products – some of which were presented to the public for the very first time at UNBESCHWIPST.
In the end, we even had to stop admitting guests.
Above all, something was created that is harder to express in numbers: a genuine sense of community among producers, the catering industry, retailers, and everyone wanting to discover how diverse modern non-alcoholic and low-alcohol enjoyment can be today.
Why UNBESCHWIPST?
The idea behind it was actually quite simple.
No/Low is now appearing more frequently at classic wine, beverage, and gastronomy trade fairs. But often as an add-on, a special area, or a side program.
We wanted to turn that around.
To create a stage of its own for producers whose work does not first need to be explained as an alternative to something else. A place where wine proxies, sparkling tea, kombucha, fruit cuvées, dealcoholized wines, and many other styles naturally stand side by side – and are judged based on quality, craftsmanship, and taste.
And we wanted to bring the people behind these drinks to Vienna. Because this category becomes particularly exciting when you understand who is shaping it, how it is produced, and what ideas lie behind the individual bottles.
That is exactly what happened at the first UNBESCHWIPST.
Producers personally presented their work, poured new products for the first time, and discussed them with an audience whose interest and quality of questions was reflected back to us repeatedly, even after the event.
Thank you.
Thank you to all the producers and partners who traveled long distances to Vienna. To all the supporters behind the scenes. And above all, to all the guests who turned an idea into a day full of curiosity, exchange, and new discoveries.
Whether and how it will continue in 2027?
We aren't revealing anything yet.
But we are staying on it.
