FREEDL Amante is an organic non-alcoholic sparkling tea from South Tyrol for sunny aperitif moments, picnics, and light meals. Well chilled, it brings alpine lightness to your glass and accompanies antipasti, mild cheese, as well as poultry or light meat.

Sparkling Tea

Sometimes elegant, sometimes full-bodied. Sometimes dry, sometimes with a hint of sweetness. And then again surprisingly floral – almost like a stroll through distant tea gardens. Sparkling teas combine clarity and depth; they are vibrant, finely structured, carried by the tension of their effervescence.

Their foundation consists of high-quality teas – black, green, oolong (Camellia sinensis) – or so-called tisanes, regional herbs blended with blossoms, peels, and other botanicals. Temperature and time determine the precision: this allows the aroma and texture to develop without overpowering bitterness. Some blends are balanced with fine fruit juice or a touch of sugar to create body and length. Their character is not achieved through fermentation – unlike wine proxies.

Then comes what defines sparkling tea: carbonation – not as an effect, but as an architectural element. It opens up the structure, unlocks aromas. This creates beverages that are allowed to play: from mineral and straightforward to warm, tart, or floral.

An Italian interpretation of sparkling tea: black tea meets South Tyrolean mountain herbs, gently fermented – a harmonious interplay of acidity and delicate sweetness, carried by fine bubbles. Maria and her team are meticulously expanding this category. Fermentation adds depth, length, and extra complexity – and suits this composition perfectly.

PRODUCTION

Sparkling Tea is made from fine black teas and alpine herbs from South Tyrol. The ingredients are first steeped or extracted using a hot brewing process and then further processed using a proprietary fermentation technique: a gentle, controlled fermentation develops sweetness and acidity, creating depth and length in the flavor. After maturation, the tea is gently carbonated.

Brewed in the heart of Lana in South Tyrol, using Alpine spring water, regional malt, and select ingredients, FREEDL represents a new idea of ​​beer. They developed a process in which no alcohol is produced in the first place – not removed, not replaced, but simply not there. (And the creative brewers also wanted to break new ground with their Sparkling Tea.)
